Roberto Carchio was born in Rome in 1974, graduated in medicine and surgery, he focused his studies on acupuncture. He trained at the A.I.A (Associazione Italiana Agopuntura), and is a professional acupuncturist.
He met Tai Chi Chuan in 1995 at the Wu Tao Kwoon Kung Fu association, from which the Rome Yang Cheng Fu centre would develop later. Inside this association, while following the Tai Chi Chuan, he practised Wing Chun with instructor Enrico Iovine.
In 1998 he met the Yang Family and attended the first Italian seminar of Master Yang Zhen Duo and Master Yang Jun, organized by the director of the Rome Yang Cheng Fu Center, Claudio Mingarini. Later on he took part in several seminars of Master Yang Zhen Duo and Master Yang Jun.
From 2003 to 2005 he cooperated in teaching at the Rome Yang Cheng Fu center, and he attended training classes promoted by the director of the above-mentioned centre; during this period he gradually reached the third level in the ranking system of IYFTCCA.
In 2009 he contacted the Florence Yang Cheng Fu centre directed and managed by centre director Roberta Lazzeri, with whom he had the possibility to attend the seminars of master Yang Jun and master Therese Mei Mei Teo in Florence and Tirrenia.
In January 2011 he became an affiliated instructor in IYFTCCA, under the mentorship of the director of the Center of Florence. In June of the same year, he did ranking session in Stockholm and obtained copper tiger level.
He studies, practices and teaches Tai Chi Chuan with his friends and his students; he is also fond of football and good music.
