Ruiyu Lily Li

Ruiyu Lily Li started Tai Chi practice in 1980 in Fujian, China, when she was in high school. She did so because she suffered greatly from asthma. The Tai Chi exercise helped her recovery and she has enjoyed practicing Tai Chi ever since.

Ruiyu learned Tai Chi from Grand Master Zen Nailiang and his team in Fujian China.

Along with her family, she came to Bay Area in California in 1999. She served as Vice President of The Hong Yang Tai Chi Association in 2009. In 2010, she was awarded level 6 by The China Wu Shu Association. She started participating in Master Jun Yang’s classes in 2015 and she achieved the Copper Tiger Rank in Yang Family Tai Chi.

Ruiyu has been teaching Tai Chi at Stanford University since 2012. She also teaches Tai Chi in several South San Francisco Bay Area communities.
