She began her practice of Tai Chi in 2003 as a therapy for inner ear damage that severely impacted her sense of balance.

She is also a member of the Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association and has achieved the Level Three Rank. Ms. Nutt has attended seminars for the hand forms, Saber Form, Sword Form and push hands plus two International Tai Chi Symposiums (2009, 2014).

She served on the organizing committee for the 2014 Symposium. In 2012, Ms. Nutt competed in the 4th International Invitational Tai Chi Chuan Tournament in Shang XI, China.

Ms. Nutt is the junior Tai Chi instructor at Highlands Community Center plus has a class for individuals with balance loss.
