Ruth started her journey in Tai Chi Chuan in 1988 with a teacher in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

By 1996 she had developed a passion for the art and attended her first Yang Family Seminar in Detroit, Michigan with Master Yang Zhen Duo and Yang Jun. It was here that she met Han Hoong Wang and became one of her students.

She has attended many Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Seminars since then, traveling to Winchester, Virginia; Portland, Oregon; Louisville, Kentucky and of course Detroit, Michigan.

Ruth had the wonderful opportunity to travel to China in 2002, obtaining her level 4 ranking while there. One of Ruth’s greatest pleasures was to attend the 2009 International Tai Chi Symposium at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
