Leonardo Ratto born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1976.
From adolescence he began practicing martial arts: JKA Shotokan Karate and Aikido.
In 1996, he starts his training in Yang style Taijiquan with Instructor Horacio Ibarra, attending regular classes until 2003, and attending over 40 seminars and retreats taught by him between 1997 and 2010.
In 1999 he began to dedicate himself to teaching Taijiquan, teaching regular classes, courses and seminars.
Since 1998 to date, he has taught and / or collaborated on dozens of seminars, meetings, exhibitions and lectures, and he has written several articles on the taijiquan and its practice.
He studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in Neijing School between 2000 and 2002, and in the Institute Shanxing between 2003 and 2006.
Since 2003, he continued his training in Taijiquan by attending seminars of various styles: Chen, Hun Yuan, Zhen Manjing, Wu Dang, and as well as different styles of Qigong.
Since 2006 to the present he has organized free meetings of Tui Shou in parks during the spring and summer.
In 2007, he formed, along with other instructors of Taijiquan, the “Uruguayan Association of Tai Chi and Chi Kung”, and he presided it until 2012.
In 2008 he founded the “School of Taijiquan Eastern Bamboo”.
He was part of the organizing committees of the “Tai Chi and Chi Kung World’s Day” in Montevideo, in the years 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
In 2010 he was hired by the City of Montevideo for dictate Taijiquan classes for health, in municipal polyclinics, work he continues to do so far.
In the same year, he attended the International Seminar taught by Master Yang Jun in Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 28 October to 3 November, participating in classes of Form 103 and Saber.
In 2011, he participated in the Training Tutorial on Form 103 of Traditional Yang Family Style, dictated by Profesor Angela Soci, performed in “O Jardim do Dharma”, Sao Pulo, Brazil, from 18 to 28 February.
In June of the same year, he organized the seminars that Prof. Angela Soci dictated in Montevideo on June 27, 28, 29 and 30, and he participated in the same.
In November of the same year, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was examined according to the ranking system of the International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association, receiving the rank of Eagle Silver (2nd level ranking).
In addition, he attended the International Seminar taught by Master Yang Jun and his wife, Master Fang Hong, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, between 11 and 16 November, participating classes Sword, Form 103 and Tui Shou.
In 2012, again, he participated in the Training Tutorial on Form 103 of Traditional Yang Family Style, taught by Professors Angela Soci and Roque Severino, held in “O Jardim do Dharma”, Sao Pulo, Brazil, April 21 to May 1.
In November of the same year, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he attended the International Seminar taught by Master Yang Jun, between 15 and 19 November, participating in Saber, special Instructor classes and Tui Shou.
